LIGHT

With the X-mas period behind us and the second day in 2019 almost passed, I would like to share why I decided to make the video “Light” in this special time of the year. Actually, if you watch the video closely, you can probably guess why I did it. Indeed, December is usually the month of reflections and contemplation (sorry for the typo of the latter word in the video by the way, it took me this time 10 straight hours to make it and in the end I was tired and missed out on it).
 
In the weeks before X-mas the television stations, movie theaters or other film providers show us a great bunch of feel good movies, with the main theme centered around topics such as ‘Love’, ‘Compassion’, ‘Selflessness’, ‘Sharing’ and ‘Peace’. If you are a catholic you also might reflect on the story of baby Jesus and his mission in life. Furthermore, people tend to reflect on the past year with a new one coming, making their New Year’s resolutions.
If you do recall the video I posted last year around this time (it is called ‘Love’ and can be found on my Facebook Page and Websites), I decided to highlight once more the importance of Light as such, enabling our physical and mental well-being.
 
As we know Light is making physical life possible. Without it, the trees would not grow nor would they contribute to the overall level of produced oxygen that we need to survive. Neither would plants grow, necessary for the physical survival of men and beast. I can highlight many examples, but I think you will get the picture. In combination with Water, Earth and Air, Light is a key element to produce the necessary ingredients to keep our bodies going.
 
But Light is even more important for our mental well-being: it’s the crucial nourishment of our mind and soul. Just think about it for a minute: as a new born baby Light is the first thing we see when we enter this world. At that moment the level of Light in our heart is enormous. Only throughout our life this important feature called Love will grow, diminish or in some cases slowly fade away.
 
If I look at the current state of this world, Light seems to become irrelevant in the mindset of those who are only interested in themselves; big selfish ego’s that are trying to seize power, acting ruthless and only in their own interest, disrespecting other people’s feelings and/or view of life, with their most important top of mind set on making and gaining more and more money to buy the next generation of material nonsense to satisfy the emptiness in their lives.
 
So, with this period of reflection and the upcoming New Year’s resolutions in mind, I wanted to share once again how important it is to find or (re)invent the Light of Love in our hearts. Only if we are well aware how important Light is, we can have peace with ourselves, leading eventually to peace in this world. The latter is the scientifically proven power of the theory of Quantum Physics, whereby a positive stream of energy can snowball, enriching our lives in the long run in many ways.
 
Let’s make an attempt to change the world into a place filled with more Light and Love, before the current state of this society is changing us forever. After all; when Light finds its ways to Darkness, as Darkness finds its way to Light, then all that remains is LOVE!

INTEGRITY

Thanks for watching this month´s Loveable Light Theme video. Integrity is a key important value that – if used and applied by all of us in our everyday life – would seriously have an impact on the way this world works nowadays. I was raised with it and always learned from my parents to be integer. Honesty and the simple way to hold oneself to consistent standards come very naturally to me.

Unfortunately, it is not the case with everyone. I guess that we all faced disappointments in this particular area, at which occasion we discovered a person’s true colors. We feel betrayed, hurt and sometimes lose faith in others due to the experience as such. As a result of the latter we even might become very cautious, reserved and distant, not wanting to be trapped again in the lies of yet another person, despising the caused injustice.

As some of you rightfully commented integrity is a rare thing when it comes to politics. We all have seen and experienced it; one tends to talk this way before the elections and another way thereafter. I guess this behavior is twofold, really. On the one hand every political party is trying to gain as much as voters as possible, promising them the moon to obtain victory. Once they get into government they adapt their promises, partly due to different insights or the fact they need to seek a compromise with the opposition, but all too often because they only used these fake claims to gain power. As a result, things that were essential for you to give them your vote, tend to end up in the garbage bin leading to business as usual.

All is very annoying when it concerns matters that affect you materially or even worse, have a great impact on your day-to-day life. What’s more appalling is the fact that one comes up with fuzzy excuses or even worse doesn’t apologize at all nor makes an attempt to explain the reason for this non-performance. I get it that different insights might lead to different actions. Admitting that you can’t live up to your word, apologizing and explaining the reason why might to a certain extent control the damage. But apparently we might be asking for too much. Nowadays politicians flatter themselves for great leadership or any other kinds of narcissistic bullshit statements to cover up their ass, simply getting away with what they are doing. It is clearly not helping to reinstate credibility after getting back on their word due to a lack of integrity and self-esteem.

A world run by world-leaders who lack integrity is a scary thing, but a fact of life, leading to a vicious cycle with others who claim to do it differently, but fail as well due to the reasons mentioned above. A world based on money, power, own agenda and personal gain is not helping either. And on top of that a society in which people are treating each other without integrity is adding to the vibe of negativity.

We definitely need a change. We can only trust, when one stays true to oneself and others. After all isn’t it in fact each and everyone’s human right to be treated with the utmost integrity and respect? Something to reflect on, particularly by those intergovernmental organizations that are responsible to safeguard each and everyone’s well being.

POVERTY

 
My father was born in Indonesia. When I was fourteen years old he decided it was about time that my sister and I would visit the country he came from. The journey was an eye-opener. At the time Indonesia was still in a development phase. Most houses were made out of bamboo or corrugated sheets, people were not earning a lot and during our trip we met a lot of beggars along the way.
 
At the verge of my adolescence it made quite an impression on me. To witness with my own eyes how children of my age were having a complete different life with uncertainties about education, food, healthcare, clothing, income and a roof above their head made me realize how lucky and rich I truly was in that sense. However, what struck me the most was the way they showed their love for life; their kindness, happiness and love towards each other despite the circumstances they were in was quite remarkable. Although on the material side they were poor, they possessed a much more valuable asset, i.e., the high level of love and light in their hearts. It definitely changed my view on life going forward.
 
After so many years passed by I recently was very fortunate to be able to visit my father’s native land again. I was very pleased to see how the country has flourished. Indonesia is definitely no longer what it was back then. It’s more prosperous and due to a solid housing plan most people do have a decent roof above their head and a reasonable income to buy the necessities of life.
 
However, despite the fact most people achieved some form of economic prosperity their love for life remained unchanged. They continued to possess the wealth of mind which I encountered when I was fourteen years old; love for their family, kindness to others, selflessness, honesty, compassion and so on. They see beauty in things that we are willfully blind for in the western world, like the sunshine on their faces, a blossoming flower, a bird singing and so on.
 
That was also the case with those who still live in a state of material poverty. While I was there I visited some parts of areas and cities where the contrast between rich and poor was very obvious. I was nearly to tears when I saw how a family of five persons lives day in and day out in a room no bigger than 10 square meter along a railway where each 1,5 minute a train is passing by with little kids playing along that same rail trail. But despite their poverty, they even wanted to share the little they had with me. Although I gave them all the cash I had in my wallet, it was only a drop in the ocean. They and all the other material poor people in the world need that cash every day to survive. It all triggered me to make the video I posted recently.
 
Although the western world is rich in the material sense of the word, it seems to get poorer in mind with the years passing by. Caught up in the high demands of society, people tend to forget what the true values of life really are about. As a result the percentages of burn-outs, suicides and depressions are still going up. There is little or less appreciation for the fact that housing, food, a job, healthcare and education are a given. Some have become blind for the abundance of matters that are not material related. It shouldn’t be like that. We should take a step back and consider what we truly have in life, particularly those assets which are not material related. And a constructive solution should be found to help those in material need. One of you suggested “zakat” (purification), a form of alms-giving treated in Islam as a religious obligation or tax that could be given to the poor. No matter what, a change is needed.
 
Let’s go back to the basics and make an attempt to ban poverty out of this world, in mind as well as in material. I thank you in advance for your help and support in this extremely important matter.

BEAUTY

Beauty is a phrase that often gives cause to different point of views or reflections. In the related video I recently posted I tried to explain my definition of this frequent used word. For sure the dictionary tells us that beauty stands for a combination of qualities that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. Some also add it represents a beautiful woman or man.
 
However, when it refers to a person beauty has in my point of view nothing to do with the outside of a human being, which I usually refer to as “our earthly jacket”. Those of you who have watched my video I AM ME know that I consider our appearance as genetically determined. It makes the nonsensical imposed media opinion – reflected in zillions of pictures of people they consider “beautiful”, constantly feeding our minds with their perception – completely irrelevant. To me beauty comes from within: it’s the light called love, captured in our hearts.
 
After all we were born with it. Actually, it’s at the core of our existence, reflecting the foundation of our soul. A smile, a helping hand, unconditional love and care for others, for Mother Nature and for all other living creatures are just some random examples. Also forgiveness and unselfish behavior mirrors the beauty of our soul. It’s that simple,not at all complicated and if you live your life accordingly it will lighten up your day. We all know how its warmth gives comfort and strength to others who are facing a tough situation. It makes us look shiny and bright, turning us in sparkling stars that enrich one another with radiant, pure rays of joy and happiness.
 
Due to circumstances darkness might enter our lives. Since we all have a free will it’s up to us how we deal with any form of negativity that is clouding the beauty within. Are we strong enough to resist it or do we let ourselves be influenced by circumstances, people, believes, surroundings or any other event, making us less open for or even getting our minds of the very meaning of our existence? Unfortunately today’s world carries great weight in how people are behaving. And that usually is not in favor of love.
 
As a natural optimist I keep the faith that even though we might be completely torn up, we still find our way back to the beauty that continues to stay in our heart. Whatever happens we always do harbor the light of love within. It’s never too late to (re-)start using it since it will always be there, awaiting to be applied in everything we do.
 
I often refer to the power of Quantum Physics, the snowball effect mentioned in my video’s, posts and notes and how we can influence the collective awareness of the human mind. Since we are all indeed beautiful creatures, it would make a huge difference if we would start to apply science. By bundling our shiny light of love, we will be able to turn this world into a beautiful place.

Respect

Freedom of speech is a precious privilege in the Western world. Out of the 195 countries worldwide more or less 101 of those are limited in their perceptions and way of expression. However, in the Netherlands where I live we can say what we think, we may have our own point of view and voice it in different ways whenever we feel up to it.

By Dutch Law there are a couple of restrictions, i.e., we may not incite to hatred, insult an official or spread lies. To a lesser extent obscenity or the breach of decency might be viewed as a violation or not judged at all as a breach of this interesting human right. Normally one would think that by exercising such (exceptional) right respect and understanding of different perspectives, ideologies, religions, lifestyles and so on would go hand in hand. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Nowadays it seems like a growing number of people feel the need to have some kind of opinion about everything and everyone when it is not in line with their own way of living and thinking. That in itself may not be a bad thing. However, what is making it bad is the way that personal view is communicated or displayed; it’s becoming more and more galling, offensive, hurtful and above all provocative.

It is strange that people seem to have forgotten that the freedom of speech is in fact a human right. Sometimes I wonder if they know why human rights were initiated, i.e., these rights give you the right to lead a decent life, ultimately leading to a more harmonious and peaceful environment. By neither considering other people’s feelings nor respect other ideologies, political views, lifestyles and religions, one could say that the intended objective of human rights is completely missed. Yes, of course we can voice our opinion, but we need to respect and treat people with different perspectives in a decent, polite and complaisant way to prevent we fail to meet the purpose of the initiation of human rights.

Love, light, peace and harmony is what most of us would like to see in this world, supported by the execution and acceptance of human rights in more countries around the globe. If there where freedom of speech is applicable we continue, however, to express ourselves in a disrespectful, hurtful way, we’re getting nowhere. One thing is leading to another, especially when an affront caused by freedom of speech is hurting societies, populations or followers of religion or political views, living in countries where freedom of speech is not a given right or people are accustomed to it. Before long one single, reckless, disrespectful way of expressing an “opinion” may cause a turmoil, with violence, negative behavior and hard feelings towards other groups, devotees or even an entire nation that had nothing to do with the offense in case as a result.

Freedom of speech is an exceptional right reserved only to a minority of people, so let’s use it wisely. Furthermore we also need to accept that this right exists when it is not common in the country where you live and we should try to acknowledge that people might have a different point of view, of course taking into consideration that it is expressed respectfully. Let love and understanding be the key drivers in our communication or actions. It will only result in more positive energy, so badly needed in today’s society, maybe even leading to an uptake in countries that will become more amenable and receptive for the adaption of (more) human rights as a snowball effect.

The Majority in the Minority

Already for some time I was playing with the idea to use this topic for one of the monthly video’s. When I posted the video “Change” some of the comments were in fact related to the subject, hence I decided to speed it up. I am glad I did, given the wonderful comments, feedback and engagement you all showed after watching my video. I truly appreciate that the majority of us do recognize this weird trend.

It truly is a strange phenomenon. I guess throughout the centuries we only started to accept it as a given. After all it was a fact when we were born and still is until this very day. But if you take a step back you start to wonder why we ever let it come that far. It is paradoxical that the majority of the people on this planet are ruled by a minority of humans, particularly given the hard facts that I showed in the video. And why do we let it continue as it is? A difficult question to answer as many aspects contributed to the current situation we are in.

I guess it started a long time ago. The colonial era which lasted for ages didn’t help either. Countries like the Netherlands, England, Germany, Italy, France and Spain decided to hop on a boat to discover new territories, planting their flags and claiming new countries as their own, totally neglecting that these countries already belonged to its own population. And what happened? They took its belongings, enriched themselves, leaving the conquered countries behind, completely raided with a forced up government and religion which didn’t align with the original values of those countries.

To me the foregoing contributed to a great extent to today’s paradoxes. The visible contrast between “rich” and “poor” countries we have nowadays is still a result of the colonial era. Adding ego, the urge for power, money and religion to it – which were by the way also the drivers for people back then to start their expeditions – in combination with a lack of respect for different points of view, the ignoring of human rights and the true understanding of the meaning of love, the answer to the question has for more than half been answered.

It goes too far to state that we can change this contradiction which has been created over the past ages. Our world is a tangle of a 195 something countries with huge underlying differences. Furthermore, we are dealing with indebted states that suffer from the heavy financial burden they have, not allowing them to build up their own countries and making it prosperous from an economic and social perspective. Slashing these countries’ debts – if it is already possible – could only mark a start if the leaders of those countries govern with true intentions on top of their mind re the welfare of its inhabitants and the country as such, instead of filling their own pockets and minding their own interests.

There is however hope. Around the world a few (new) world leaders are trying to make a difference. Let’s give them a helping hand by creating an environment existing of positive vibes in which they can pursuit what needs to be done to reach a society in which each and every person has the same human rights, entitled to the base necessities to allow them to live their lives.

CHANGE

Last week I posted the July video with “Change” as main theme. I guess I got inspired by my first US radio interview with Pat Rullo of Speak Up Talk Radio. During the interview she reflected on an earlier published press release (Is World peace still possible despite the new missile launch by Kim Jong-Un) and the associated video (World Peace enabled by Quantum Physics), in which I stipulated that due to the working of Quantum Physics we can affect a change on the long run by adapting our everyday behavior.
 
Sure, I can’t change the current state of the world on my own. Nobody individually can. But what I can do is to take a step back; a clear reflection on my own life can be the start to change my own behavior in a more caring, loving and positive approach of my everyday (inter)actions with others. If in parallel more people will apply the same process, all these individual combined efforts can indeed influence and motivate other people to act in a similar way, precisely as Quantum Physics states.
 
And a change doesn’t have to be major. It can be found in the easy and simple things. Put a smile on your face, visit that old neighbor or aunt you haven’t seen for a while, take a little time out of your busy schedule to do something nice for a person who is in need, be a little bit more patient in traffic, wish somebody a nice day if you for instance are walking in the street or standing in an elevator and so on. People will get inspired by your kindness and on their turn apply that same kindness in their approach to other people they meet. In fact, although the change you make is fairly simple, it can have a major impact on others! And science already proved that once a critical mass has been reached it will snowball.
 
Finally, we need to be conscious that all is energy and therefore we impact the current look and feel of this world. So in fact the current world population is also responsible for the way life on Earth will look like in the future. By starting to make a change now – how little it might be – we can influence the future of our planet.
Always remember that YOU are such an important influencer of tomorrow’s world. Just start or continue to use your light of love and try to have or keep a positive mindset, how difficult that might be due to the circumstances that impacted or are still impacting your life. In the end it matters a lot to those who still will live here after we have passed away.

Life

As some of you know my mother has Alzheimer’s. With every passing day she is slipping more and more into her disease. Lately however, her mind seems to be gone completely although her body is still there. Her health deteriorates badly. Actually, it would not surprise me to wake up one day to learn that she sadly passed away.
 
Our lives end without prior warning. Death comes like a thief in the night. We all lost loved ones, some at age, some still very young, unexpectedly taken away from this world. It always feels surreal as if the deceased one can still walk into the door. It makes you realize that life is relative. It can be over before you know it. So, when watching my Mom this weekend I decided to choose LIFE and the way we are meant to live as the topic for this month’s video.
 
We all have different thoughts and philosophies about the origin of life and whether or not there is an afterlife once we pass away. That is something else I would like to talk about in another video sometime in the near future. Today I want to focus on the precious gift we all harbor within which is love.
 
In the scope of time we spent here on Earth compared to the infinity of the universe, I wonder why we forgot to put love in the center of our everyday activities, enriching our lives and those of others with joy and happiness. Of course there are the obvious reasons. The world we are living in today is a true sum of the development of our mutual intellect throughout the centuries. For some reason that intellect told us that money, power and ego are very important for our individual development, particularly in the western world where I live. It’s just the way it is. In the hectic of today’s society we have so many other things on our mind that we ignore or forget what life really is about. Add religion and the inability of some to respect that we have a free will and therefore our choice to believe or not and what we believe is inevitable, and you arrive at today’s state of the world.
 
Earlier on I posted a video relating to our connection with the Earth. How we live and what we do is affecting the state of our planet. Lately we all read in the newspapers about volcanoes suddenly erupting in Hawaii and Guatemala causing death and destruction. It will certainly not be the last natural disaster. So, what can we do about it? I believe that by being conscious about the effect of life on our surroundings (Earth) and the power we have within to shine our light of love thus creating a flow of more positive energy, we can make a first start to change that true sum of mutual intellect development I mentioned earlier on, leading to an important turnaround of all that is in the end.
 
On top of that; we all know that when someone deceases it hurts like hell. The one thing that will keep us going is the beautiful memory of precious moments filled with love and happiness we shared with this person and the love of others who are trying to comfort us. I truly believe that the more love we have for each other and everything we do will soften the loss of a dear one in the end. Being surrounded by love will heal all wounds like it ultimately will change the condition of the Earth.

WHAT IF…

What if… is a question that all of us probably has asked ourselves during our life. Some of us keep on dreaming, being happy with the simple reflection of what they aspire. Others, however, try to live that dream, their vision, in the knowledge that any change needed in life can only happen when making a start.

Like so many others I often wondered if there would ever be put an end to the continuous flow of negative and violent messages, displayed through a variety of channels such as television, internet and newspapers. For those of you who took a look at my Facebook page or websites (www.anneliesgeorge.com and www.loveablelight.com) it’s already known that I decided to make a start by initiating Loveable Light in 2016. Inspired by my research for the second part of the Jessie Golden series (Darkness & Light) and a reflection on what I wrote therein, I knew it was time to translate my words into deeds. Eventually, it’s a matter of putting your own house in order first.

Through my books, blogs and video’s I try to raise awareness of the powerful light we all have within called LOVE. In this hectic world we tend to forget to use this beautiful gift in our everyday life with all the repercussions it has for planet Earth and the wider society (watch the video: Our connection with the Earth which you can find alongside this post). From time to time I, too, must pick myself up if I wander off too much due to my job in the tough business world, where it is still a matter of profit, margin and loads of money.  In fact, it’s today’s society that seems to get lost in a world which was created by human itself during the past centuries.

Science already revealed that the collective awareness of the human mind can be influenced by Quantum Physics. We only need to put it in practice; influence and inspire each other with positive thoughts and deeds of love. In the long run, it will snowball and affect our behavior in the same way as the not so positive ideas and violent deeds have proven the Theory in the past.

Finally, I am fully aware that the “what if…” I sketch in the video is utopian, but as explained above change can only happen with a start. With science proving that the bundling of our positive energy will make a difference in the long run, I strongly encourage you to keep the faith and shine your loveable light whenever you can, as much as you can. United we stand, divided we fall; it is up to all of us to take a stand against the current decline of our civilization and create a different world we all dream of, the “what if world” of love and peace.

LONDON BOOK FAIR Fair 2018 (APRIL 10-12)

On the advice of my publisher, Karen Strauss, I visited this week the London Book Fair together with my best friend Elisabeth Alblas, who also is my agent and PR-representative. Karen couldn’t be there since the Fair was too small for her. Furthermore, she is very busy among other activities with the BookExpo preparation, taking place in New York from May 30 through June 3rd.

For us, it was quite an adventure, leaving Schiphol Airport late Monday afternoon. Although we were supposed to land on London City, we ended up in Southampton! Due to extreme weather conditions all London Airports shut down while we were in the air. By taking the train, we arrived at Waterloo Station later than planned, leaving just enough time to grab a quick meal before going to bed.

Fully energized we started our adventure the next day. After a five-minute walk we joined the international crowd and entered the Olympia Hall, eager to meet and engage with as many people as possible. During our visit we had some interesting discussions relating to the Jessie Golden series, so we keep our fingers crossed it will lead to new developments.

Apart from the many publishers, agents and other book related representatives, there were many workshops and presentations you could join. Even David Baldacci was there, discussing his writing methods and creative approach.

One of the surprises of the Fair was the common feedback we got from various people (with different functions) relating to my non-fiction book, Learn to Understand your Original Self. It gave me food for thought, leading to an expedited deadline to get the book ready before the end of this year. There is still a lot of work to do and combined with a full time job and the care of my mother, I hope I will be able to make it.

All in all, it was a great experience. Walking around for a couple of days among other passionate authors and book experts made me realize once again how I love writing, enabling me to share my thoughts on specific topics with the rest of the world. How I wish that I could write for a living, being busy with my books all day!

Well, no fairy-tale for me at this moment! However, no matter what the times may be I’m going to continue to write in the spare time I have, hoping to create through my work some more awareness around the powerful light we all have within: LOVE. And, who knows? Maybe I will be invited one day to the London Book Fair as a guest speaker, sharing my writing experience in front of a crowd just like David Baldacci when my dream transforms into reality!  🙂
